The Town of Otego Highway Department is hiring a full-time employee for highway maintenance, truck driving, equipment operating, and truck repairs. CDL license preferred but not required. Will help train for CDL. NYS retirement and health insurance benefits. We are seeking a dedicated Highway Maintenance Driver to join our team in ensuring safe and well-maintained roadways. In this role, you will operate maintenance vehicles and equipment to perform essential tasks, including snow removal, road repairs, debris clearing, and roadway inspections. Responsibilities include transporting materials, operating specialized machinery, and responding to emergency situations, such as weather-related incidents. The ideal candidate will have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), a strong commitment to safety, and a willingness to work in varying weather conditions. Physical stamina and attention to detail are essential, as the role involves operating heavy equipment and manual labor. Previous experience in highway maintenance or a related field is preferred but not required. This position offers an opportunity to contribute directly to public safety and infrastructure.
